JDW Highland Dance School was established in 2010 in a small hall in Letham Community Centre, near Airth in Falkirk. The school then expanded further out the city to Peebles and is now in the heart of Edinburgh's city centre. In 2012 JDW highland dance school moved all classes to the Royal Commonwealth Pool and is still continuing with classes on a weekly basis. Michelle Nichols our newest teacher joined the team in late 2016 and is now working alongside Jennifer.
Over the past few years the school has grown to become a welcoming, passionate, caring proud and professional dance school filled with young hard working dancers participating in various events, competitions and working their way through exams.
JDW Highland Dance is dedicated to bring a high quality of coaching and dance instruction to all dancers whilst providing encouragement and support throughout.
JDW highland dance is affiliated with the Scottish Official Highland Dancing Association which was founded in 1947. All dancers are encouraged to go through examinations and competitions but this is not compulsory.
