Michelle Nichols is 21 and is an associate teacher within the JDW Highland Dance school. She has been part of JDW for 2 years now and both Jennifer and the dancers are very lucky to have such a wonderful teacher and team member. Michelle has been dancing from the age of 5 in Highland, Ballet, Tap and Jazz. She is a competitive adult highland dancer and has recently joined Jennifer in coaching classes and will continue to do so in the future and will now work her way towards her full teacher's exam in November 2019.
Michelle still compete's when she can and had an extremely successful year in 2018 winning the 2018 Senior British Champion and the Senior Scottish Championship.
Michelle has also travelled locally and worldwide performing with her previous dance schools and various other highland dance teams in places such as German, Spain and Belgium.
Michelle has performed for several years in the world famous "Taste of Scotland Show" at Prestonfield's House Hotel in Edinburgh. She is a talented dancer and is an inspiration to all our younger dancers and we are all very grateful to have her as part of our team. She will hopefully be continuing with her Prestonfield performances.
Outside of the dancing world Michelle is in her final year at The University of Strathclyde studying Biomedical Science with the hope to continue her studies in medicine.
